Get To Know Dr. Frey
Dr. Meredith Frey grew up on both sides of the country, New Jersey and California. Both had their advantages and gave her a "bi-coastal" perspective on the equine world. She began riding horses at the age of 5 and oddly, never had a horse to call her own. Instead, she gained experience working with multiple different horses and mounts. Dr. Frey decided to become a veterinarian to give back to the species she so cherished as a child.
Dr. Frey received a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management from Penn State, WE ARE! She earned her DVM from Colorado State University in 2020 where she fell in love with the Rocky Mountains. headed back east to complete an intensive rotating surgery and medicine internship at Piedmont Equine in The Plains, VA. Her interests include preventive and alternative medicine, including routine care, dentistry, and acupuncture. She also enjoys teaching different aspects of veterinary medicine to veterinary students and is a frequent guest lecturer at her alma mater, CSU.
She is an active member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP), currently co-chairing the New Practitioners Task Force setting up continuing education events for new graduates. She is also a member of the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA), and American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), and in 2022, she became certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture.
Dr. Frey is excited to be back in CO, so close to the mountains where she also enjoys spending most of her free time with her husband, Andrew.
