Get To Know Dr. Yurek
Dr. Yurek grew up here in Boulder County. He started his equine career at the age of 9 competing cutting horses all over the country. He headed to Colby College in Maine for his undergraduate degree in biochemistry, then worked a few years in the biotech field at the Christopher Reeves Spinal Cord Research Center and the Colorado Serum Company developing vaccines. He then enrolled at Ross University. He completed his vet degree in 2009, during his fourth year being at Colorado State University.
Following school he worked 2 years for a small practice in longmont before starting Vetwerx Equine in 2011. Since then, Vetwerx has grown considerably from a one doctor ambulatory practice to a dual facility, 7 doctor specialty hospital. His main area of focus is CT imaging, advanced lameness, and reproduction.
His philosophy in practice is to put the client and patient first, and to create an excellent experience for them both. He has created the entire practice around the client experience, customer service, and unmatched effort in maintaining the highest level of care possible.
He spends his free time with his wife Bethany and two daughters, Norah and Maren.
